AURORA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two Aurora men are facing attempted murder charges in connection with two shootings that occurred late Friday night in the western suburb, the Aurora Beacon-News is reporting.

Andrew Bueno, 24, of the 700 block of Superior Street, and Armando Delgado, 17, of the 1000 Block of Tollview Avenue, each face two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, both Class X felonies. Delgado has been charged as an adult.

No one was injured in either of the shootings, which occurred about 90 minutes apart.

Police said the first shooting occurred at about 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Bluff Street. Two Aurora men, ages 33 and 26, were in a vehicle stopped at a stop sign when Bueno and Delgado allegedly ran up to the car and shouted a gang slogan. The victims told police that one of the men pulled out a handgun, and pointed it through the passenger side window. The driver sped away from the scene before shots were fired.

Several shots hit the victim's vehicle, but no one was injured.

The second shooting happened about 90 minutes later in the 600 block of North Avenue, police said. Two suspects matching the description of those involved in the prior shooting approached a 25-year-old man as he sat in his car. The victim told police that he fled from the scene when one of the men pulled out a handgun. He was able to speed away as shots were fired, and was not injured.

He told police when he looked back he saw the two suspects enter an early model white Cadillac.

Police said that based on the witness descriptions, they believed Bueno and Delgado may have been involved. At around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, an officer spotted the suspected white Cadillac, occupied by Delgado and Bueno, near Tollview Avenue and Sheffer Road.

When they stopped the car, police said Delgado fought with officers. Police did not find the weapon, but when they searched Delgado, they retrieved a spent bullet casing matching the caliber weapon used in the shootings. Police also suspected that both Delgado and Bueno had been drinking.

Delgado was additionally charged with aggravated resisting a police officer, unlawful contact with a street gang member, aggravated assault, and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Bueno was additionally charged with drunken driving, driving with a suspended license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

A 19-year-old female who was with Bueno and Delgado was released without charges after being questioned.

Bueno's bond was set at $250,000 Monday and Delgado's at $200,000. Both were transferred to the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles.

A third shooting occurred at around 1 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Bevier Place. Officers responded to a call of shots fired in that area and discovered a home had been hit by several bullets. No one was injured, and police have not ruled out the possible involvement of Bueno and Delgado.
