MILFORD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police in Milford are investigating after parents alerted them to a possible case of stranger danger.

Investigators say they were called after a man followed three middle school students near the Starbucks restaurant in downtown Milford on Tuesday. He didn't speak to the children but reportedly made vulgar gestures.

Police say the man is a 31-year-old registered sex offender who is on probation. The same man may also have been involved in a similar incident at a nearby dance studio.

The case has been turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office to determine if charges will be filed.
