The victim's family is devastated beyond words. They want answers and justice.

29-year-old Anthony M. Wozniak was a young man who was looking forward to going to school to get into the computer field.

He was stabbed to death at the Warren Inn Apartments on University near Dobson.

Witnesses say a man and a woman were fighting. Wozniak tried to break it up, and the man stabbed him.

"He saw something going on that was wrong and he wanted to step in and I mean, the guy just stabbed him to death, it makes me so sick," said Nanette Wozniak Archuleta, the victim's mother.

Mesa Police have a suspect. He is 24 year-old Jeremy G. Hench.

Police questioned him and released him. They say the case is still under investigation.

"I just wish the people that knew what really happened would come forward, who did it, what it was over and why," said aunt Marla Hiesel.

We went to the Warren Inn looking for answers and were turned away by security.

Anthony Wozniak's family is hoping police unravel what happened and why.

"I do not get it or understand. What an argument, yeah, but not a stabbing."

The family of Anthony M. Wozniak has set up a bank account in his name to help raise money for funeral expenses.

You can contribute at any Wells Fargo Bank in the name of Anthony M. Wozniak.

There will be a car wash fundraiser this Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be outside Frazee Paint at Alma School and Southern in Mesa.
