TEMPE, Ariz. -

The District on Apache apartment complex just opened up, offering ASU students a luxury alternative to campus housing. But it's been the site of several disturbing incidents, including a sex abuse and sexual assault.

Add two other sexual assaults in the past two weeks in and around the ASU campus, for a total of four.

It's an alarming situation. Disturbing news for anyone living in that area. Police say all four incidents are unrelated, and so far, police have made two arrests. But two men remain on the loose.

They're not related, but they happened within blocks of each other in Tempe. All of this has Tempe police extremely concerned.

The latest assault happened early Saturday morning at the District on Apache, a new high-end complex.

Police say the attacker entered through an unlocked front door. One of the two women in the apartments awoke to a man, who seemed drunk, fondling her.

"At that point, the suspect was startled, tried to get out of the apartment and was able to leave before police arrived," says Tempe Police Sgt. Steve Carbajal.

It was also at these apartments back on September 13th that police say 23-year-old Mohamed Alshahrani, a Saudi national, sexually assaulted his ex during a party.

According to court documents, both had been drinking when Alshahrani attacked the victim. He allegedly put his hand over her mouth, called her a name and said ‘you deserve what you get.'

When police spoke to him, he claimed he was "black out drunk" and everything was consensual.

"We understand that people are going to drink, we understand that people are going to have a good time. But it is level of intoxication that we are seeing that I think is leading to these situations where people are becoming victims."

Two separate attacks came Friday, one at the 922 Place Apartments on Apache.

The victim told police she had a lot to drink and remembers waking up to a man on top her. She is under 21 and declined to pursue charges.

The other happened on the ASU campus in the Cholla dorm. The victim told police she met 27-year-old Skylar Spence on a dating site.

After their first date, she invited in him back to the dorm where ASU Police say they had sex without her consent. More on this story
