BURNSVILLE, Minn. (KMSP) -

Police are asking the public to help them find a missing 20-year-old woman after a man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at Nina's Grill in Burnsville over the weekend.

Rosemount police arrested 31-year-old Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson near County Road 46 and Shannon Parkway at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Palagar Jobi.

Now, police are focusing on finding 20-year-old Anarae Kristine Schunk, who was reported missing on Monday and was last seen with Chavez-Nelson on the day of the homicide.

According to friends and family members, Schunk was last seen at noon on Saturday the Caribou Coffee located near Cliff Road and Highway 13 in Burnsville, which is just across the street from Nina's Grill.

Loved ones say her father dropped her off at the coffee shop, where she spent several hours studying and playing chess with friends; however, she did not make it to a party later that night.

The last time loved ones heard from Schunk was at 9:14 p.m. on Saturday, when she sent a text message to her mother and a friend in Wisconsin that simply said, "I love you." Since then, her phone has gone straight to voicemail and her social media accounts have been inactive.

Schunk is described as standing 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. She has green eyes, brown-blonde hair and was last seen wearing a white, zip-up jacket with a University of Minnesota logo on the chest. She is a junior at the U of M, and family members say she is passionate about tutoring.

Officers stressed that Schunk is not considered a suspect in the shooting; however, a missing person alert issued by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation on Tuesday night said Schunk was with Chavez-Nelson that night.

Surveillance video shows Schunk leaving Nina's Grill with Chavez-Nelson shortly after the last text message she sent and a few hours before the fatal shooting.

Police did not elaborate on her relationship to Chavez-Nelson; however, Schunk's brother told FOX 9 News Chavez-Nelson is his sister's ex-boyfriend and that the two had dated for about four to six months about a year ago.

Anyone with information on Schunk's whereabouts is urged to call Burnsville police at 952-895-4636 or call 911.

Chavez-Nelson has multiple aliases, and he has not yet been formally charged.
