Let it Rip: ObamaCare's impact on you and the economy

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

In just a matter of days, people in Michigan will be able to shop for health coverage as part of Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as ObamaCare.

Those with health insurance may not feel the immediate impact, but as the market changes the ACA is going to impact everybody in the United States in way or the other.

On Thursday night, the Let it Rip panel exchanged the thoughts on the law and its upside, as well as its potential downside.

Click the video player to hear from Democratic strategist Deborah Dingell, Detroit News columnist Nolan Finley and Andy Hetzel, VP of Corporate Communications fro Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

A few notable quotes from the debate:

"If you've got a Democratic governor in a state, they're trying to make it work and prices are coming down. If you've got a Republican governor in a number of states, they're doing everything they can  to make it difficult to implement (ObamaCare) and making it awful and increasing prices." - Debbie Dingell
"We have businesses and unions alike saying this is going to lead to more part time employment, fewer full time jobs. It's a mess. We need to step back from the partisan flight and fix this thing before it destroys our economy." - Nolan Finley

What do you think? How will ObamaCare impact your way of life?
