What you need to know for Braves NLDS at Turner Field

ATLANTA -

If you are headed to Turner Field on Thursday or Friday for the first two games of the NLDS between the Atlanta Braves and L.A. Dodgers, there are some things you should know.

The Atlanta Braves released series highlights and helpful hints to fans on Wednesday.

GAME DAY

Game 1 - Thursday, Oct. 4 at 8:37 p.m.
- Free foam Tomahawks will be given away to the first 45,000 fans courtesy Academy Sports + Outdoors.
- Beatles tribute band "The Return" will perform in the Fan Plaza before the game.
- Chipper Jones, Baseball Hall of Famer and former Braves Third Baseman, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
- Edwin McCain, Atlanta native and platinum recording artist, will sing the National Anthem.
- DJ Danny M. will be performing throughout the game.

Game 2 - Friday, Oct. 5 at 6:07 p.m.
- Free foam Tomahawks will be given away to the first 45,000 fans thanks to Piedmont Healthcare
- Atlanta rapper B.o.B will perform for fans pre-game in Fan Plaza
- Sarah Dugas will join the Zac Brown in singing the National Anthem.

In addition, the Braves will pay tribute to the local "Hometown Hero" from the United States Military and Timothy Miller from the Atlanta Opera sing God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch at each of the games.

TICKETS

The ticket windows open at 9:30 a.m. each day and fans can purchase or pick up tickets until the end of the 5th inning.

Active military and students will get a discount to the games. Upper Box tickets, regularly priced $24, will be sold to fans with valid student or military IDs for $14 for both home games.

PARKING/TRANSPORTATION

Parking will be at a premium around Turner Field for both games, so they suggest taking MARTA or using the park and ride option:

- Lakewood Amphitheater Park and Ride: For just $5, fans can park at Lakewood Amphitheater up to 5 hours before the game and board a free shuttle to Turner Field a half hour later. The shuttle will through the game and another hour and a half following the last out. Location: http://goo.gl/maps/DAazB

- MARTA Shuttle Bus: A MARTA shuttle service from the Underground Atlanta/Five Points MARTA station to Turner Field will run beginning 3 hours before first pitch and will run an hour after the final out. Buses 32, 49, and 55 also service routes between the two points. For more: itsmarta.com

FAN CONDUCT

Security at the games will be tight. Those entering the ballpark will be asked to empty their pockets of all material and bags will be searched. In addition, there will be random inspection by a handheld metal detector or pat down.
