Developing Story: Pre-K Kid Found With Drugs At School

Posted: Updated:

This morning, a pre-K student showed up to class at Thomas Mifflin School with drugs and money. According to police, the little boy was only four years old.

He had the narcotics on him and showed the cash, totaling $173 according to police, to another classmate. The classmate told the teacher, and then the school called police. The little boy was removed from the classroom and taken to St. Chris's Hospital to be observed and make sure he didn't have drugs in his system, according to authorities. The school district believes it was a small amount of crack cocaine.

A K9 was then brought in to sniff the classroom to make sure no drugs are left inside. The rest of the class was removed from the room and the parents are being notified. It looks like some parents are already coming to pick up their kids.

Police are still looking to speak to the boy's parents. Stay with FOX 29 for a more information. Leigh Scheps is on scene talking to parents and authorities.
