The Florida Department of Children and Families is investigating a shooting involving a 2-year-old Orange County boy.  DCF was notified of the shooting on Tuesday.

The child is presently receiving medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the child received wounds to both legs as the result of a single gunshot.  The shooting, which happened at a residence on W. Livingston Street in Orlando, is believed to be an accident and self-inflicted.

A DCF spokesperson said the agency is working with law enforcement to better understand the circumstances of how the child sustained the injuries.
