Marshall auctions off green cleats to support mental illness

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Brandon Marshall wore his green shoes to make a statement about mental illness during Thursday night's Bears-Giants game.

Now, he's selling them to raise money to fight mental illness. The shoes are up for auction with the bidding currently at $2,000.

Marshall says he'll donate the proceeds to his foundation which helps people cope with mental illness.

The NFL is expected to fine Marshall at least $10,000 for wearing the non-standard shoes, but considering he scored two touchdowns in them, it might be worth it.

Given their history, last season sure was an odd one for the Chicago Bears. Just as they finally managed to get things right on offense, their defense pulled off quite a disappearing act. Well, it's back. At least, the Bears think it's back.

The Chicago Bears know who's backing up starting quarterback Jay Cutler. Now they'd like to know their defense is backing up their offense.
