Phoenix man allegedly kills ex-lover

A man was arrested for allegedly killing his roommate after he was seen driving the man's truck.

A Phoenix Police report states Robert Bickford was found dead inside his home after his ex-boyfriend went to check on him. Bickford's co-workers had called the man after he didn't show up for work on Tuesday or Wednesday.

When officers arrived, Bickford's truck was missing from the garage. Bickford was reportedly known for not allowing anyone to drive the truck but him.

While Phoenix Police were at BickFord's home, Avondale Police reported they were on a call where a family friend, Jason Neal, arrived at a home acting suspicious.

Neal allegedly told his friends he was planning to go to Mexico and needed money. They saw him driving what is believed to be Bickford's truck.

The police report says Neal told his friends Bickford had died of natural causes three days earlier and had signed over his truck to him before he died.

Neal's friends told police they were suspicious because a week earlier Neal told them he wasn't allowed to drive Bickford's truck.

In addition, the report reveals Neal's ex-girlfriend told police he told her he was going to put a bullet in his roommate's head.

Neal was taken into custody after officers stopped him for a traffic stop; he was driving Bickford's truck.

According to the police report, Neal and Bickford lived together for the last four or five months and had been intimate at one time.

Neal requested a lawyer and no other questions were asked.

He faces charges of murder, theft and possession/use of a dangerous drug.
