Horror Parks: One Of LA's Scariest Halloween Theme Parks

(FOX 11) Are you looking for an excuse to hold your date a little tighter? Are you into the kind of horror where you lose your voice from screaming too loud and too often? Well, then Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights is YOUR kind of place and my worst nightmare! I'll be honest, I'm a total scardy cat so this was a challenging assignment for me. I think what freaks me out the most are the "Walkers" or zombies roaming free just outside the The Walking Dead maze. When you can feel someone's breath on your neck and face...it's scary to a new degree. My exact words to one zombie: you didn't get enough hugs from your mom.

The coolest part about this year's Halloween Horror Nights is that for the first time ever, visitors can access the "back lot" at Universal. This is where real movies and TV shows are shot on a day-to-day basis. So you'll see sets from your favorite shows or films right there along side The Walking Dead maze and the Black Sabbath 3D maze. The latter maze is my favorite! Ozzy Osbourne helped to create what I call a 'haunted house on steroids'! It's lit by black lights so everything is electric neon, minus some of the devils that are dressed in complete black so you don't see them at all till they give you a heart attack:) The maze is also 3-dimensional (so yes, you have to wear 3D glasses)! And all of this is set to Black Sabbath music blasting all around you.

Here's my insider scoop. Start your Halloween Horror Night's journey in the back lot. This way you insure that you catch the best two attractions (The Walking Dead and Black Sabbath mazes). The lines only get longer throughout the night...so it's best to hop on the tram (it's too far to walk) the minute you enter the park...and just head to the back lot. Also, if you don't mind spending more $$, get the VIP tickets to avoid the long lines. And last but not least, all of the other Universal Studios Hollywood attractions are open during Halloween Horror Nights so feel free to explore beyond the Halloween stuff.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood goes till Nov 2nd...so have a spooktacular time!
