Coatesville Woman Terrorized Inside Her Home

"He had the knife over my face. He had my hair with one hand and the knife with the other," said a woman who could have lost her life in a split second. We're concealing her identity as she tells how a man terrorized her inside her home and got away.

"I had left the house to get in the car. I had locked up everything and turned on the alarm," she said.

Around 9 o'clock Thursday morning she got in her car outside her Coatesville home on Marquis Street to go to school. Her husband and five children were already gone. That's when she realized she'd left a book inside so she went back to get it.

"I was approached from behind when I went to go unlock the bottom lock. He put his hand over my mouth and he pushed me in the door." The victim says the man, who police now have a police sketch of, was holding a knife when he pushed her inside while her house alarm went off. They struggled in the foyer where she says her attacker forced her over to the keypad.

"If I turn off this alarm no one is going to be here to help me so I just would not turn it off. I'm like you're just going to have to stab me," said the victim. And that's what the suspect did as the victim, terrified, tried to run upstairs.

"He cut me on my arm, my face and on my chest. He tore my shirt completely off and he tried to tear my pants off. I wouldn't let him because at that point I knew what he was trying to do and I was like I'll get stabbed before I get raped."

Lucky for her, the suspect lost balance on the steps and she broke loose. She ran upstairs and locked the room door. On the way she grabbed the phone and called 911. Her attacker fled. She's haunted by an experience she won't forget.

"I'm nervous. I don't sleep. I don't go out alone. I'm just hoping and praying they find him. I'm just thankful that God was watching over me."

The victim says she saw the suspect a day before the attack. She says he was sitting on the curb across the street from her house. She says he did not ask for money or take anything from the home during the attack.

Call Coatesville Police if you know the suspect. They say he has brown hair, an auburn beard and  cold sore on his lip.
