I-4 reopens after fatal crash near Osceola Parkway

Posted: Updated:

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol says the eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 have reopened following a fatal motorcycle crash near Mile Marker 67.

The crash happened Tuesday morning at Osceola Parkway, near the Orange and Osceola county line. Troopers say a passenger vehicle apparently ran over a piece of tire tread in the road, which then struck the motorcycle driver. He was knocked off the bike and run over by a passing vehicle. That vehicle didn't stop and troopers are looking for the driver.

The interstate was closed for several hours, reopening shortly before 11 a.m.

The name of the 47-year-old motorcycle driver hasn't been released.
