92-year-old man receives restitution in fraud case

ELLENTON, Fla. (AP) - A 92-year-old man received $75,000 of his savings back after his former investment broker pled guilty on fraud charges.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports that Paul Arnold - the man to whom Joe Forrest had entrusted his money - pleaded guilty inside a Sarasota courtroom recently and is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 2.

A prosecutor agreed to the plea if Arnold agreed to replenish some of Forrest's savings.

Arnold owes Forrest another $100,600 in the case.

Forrest did not ask for Arnold to serve time, but the State Attorney's Office, through the newly implemented White Collar Division, is cracking down on those who take advantage of seniors.
