High School Football Player Suspended For Poem

Posted: Updated:
RITTMAN, Ohio -

Nick Andre's high school football team isn't the greatest. They are 1-7 this season. So, when his teacher asked him to write about something that made him angry, he wrote about football.

Andre, 16, was suspended and kicked off the Ohio football team as a result of the poem he wrote called "Stupid." Here's a sample:

"Losing season,

Favoritism,

Non-stop passes from best friend to best friend,

Continuously doing what doesn't work.

The inability to separate being a father and a coach,

Dropped passes,

But yet still the super star,

Yeah right.

Where's my scholarship?"

The poem takes aim at a wide receiver who is the son of the coach. When school officials found out about the poem, they were furious. They claimed Nick was harassing and hazing his teammates and the athletic director.

Nick was suspended on Tuesday, but after this story aired on the Fox station in Cleveland, the school decided to overturn his punishment.

Nick is now back in school, and the athletic director will let him play in the last two games of the season.
