A family is in desperate need of help in their quest for justice. It has been six months since Annmarie and James Smith were killed inside their Orange County home.
There have been no viable leads, no suspects, and now investigators and the victims' families are asking for your help.
"We are begging anyone with information regarding the case to come forward," said Valerie Smith, daughter of James Smith.
A broken hearted family shared their pain as they look for answers.
"Just a few days after I returned from my honeymoon, my mom and dad were murdered in their home," said Valerie Smith during a press conference Friday afternoon. "Their tragic death has left us completely devastated and confused."
On April 26, Valerie's grandmother discovered James and Annmarie Smith dead. They were inside their Orange County home, located in the 2700 block of Aein Road. Witnesses heard screams and gunshots. Investigators say this double homicide has turned cold.
"We've exhausted those leads that have come in and we're still looking at some of them but at this point we are just expressing to the public to think back to that morning, see if they remembered anything that occurred in that area," said the lead investigator Dave Phelan.
The victim's family shared a wedding video with us. You see James Smith walking his daughter down the aisle. It was the last time Valerie would see her parents alive.
"We know that there isn't anything that can heal our wounds but our prayer is that justice will bring us closure and eventually peace," said Valerie Smith as she wiped her tears.
