Horror Movie Villain Comes To Woman’s Home

Posted: Updated:

It was fright in a Lower Macungie neighborhood when a horror movie villain came to a woman's home, and then scared her just days before Halloween.

FOX 29's Leigh Scheps reports on why police say this is no laughing matter.

The visitor was a trick or treater no one wants to see at their front door during this time of year.

Neighbors like Michael Greer are horrified to hear a Lehigh County woman was haunted at her home by a famous fictional killer.

Pennsylvania State Police say the man appeared to be wearing a mask similar to the Jason Voorhees character in the Halloween cult classic "Friday the 13th."

It happened in the Meadowyck Community in Lower Macungie Township.

Troopers explain the woman heard someone knocking on her front and back doors around 1 a.m. Sunday. When she opened it, a masked man pointed what appeared to be a large knife at her. He then jumped into a green Sedan with three other men, according to investigators.

"I don't know why you would open up your door at that hour," Greer said. I know it's Halloween and everything. Unless you know the person who lives there and you're playing a practical joke on someone I don't see any reason to do that."

Troopers tell us they are investigating this incident as a Halloween prank or possibly a neighborhood dispute.

"That individual stated to her two times 'why do you keep calling police?' I can tell you the woman terrorized in this case, she hasn't called police about anything recently," Trooper Kirk Vanim of the Pennsylvania State Police said.

While some neighbors are on edge troopers want to ease their fears.

"We don't have a homicidal Maniac who escaped from an asylum running around our neighborhoods," Trooper Kirk Vanim said.

While the woman wasn't hurt, the masked man could face charges from disorderly conduct and harassment to terroristic threats.
