DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

A man who lives at Infinity Park Apartment complex near Telegraph and Schoolcraft roads in Detroit says he woke up to someone trying to unhook the latch on his door. He says once the suspects got in they duct taped his hands, mouth and feet and stabbed him several times.

The residents of this apartment complex are stunned to find out their neighbor was brutally attacked, held hostage and assaulted.

"I didn't hear any commotion out here this morning, but it makes you want to get your hat, if you know what I mean," says Lester Young, a neighbor.

The suspects were armed with knives and stole one thousand dollars cash, 200 dollars in assorted coins, an Xbox game system, a computer, clothes and shoes. Police say a woman who was in bed with the victim at the time of the incident could have set the victim up, and are treating her as a suspect at this time.

The victim was left duct taped and bleeding from several stab wounds. All three suspects escaped, possibly in the victims car which is a 2010 Mercury Milan with the license plate PBH-5811.

The entrance to the apartment complex has several posted signs saying the complex is under 24 hour surveillance, but Fox 2 crews were able to walk right in and the guard shack was completely empty.

The victim will recover but that doesn't stop residents from fearing for their safety.
