School bus overturns on Staten Island

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Eight people were injured when an SUV slammed into a school bus in the Eltingville section of Staten Island causing it to overturn.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Oakdale Street and Preston Avenue at 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, said FDNY officials.

SkyFoxHD was over the scene, where the mini- school bus was on its side and surrounded by emergency vehicles.

Six people aboard the school bus including four children were taken to Staten Island University Hospital.

A father and son inside the SUV were also hospitalized.

The patients were in serious condition but none of the injuries was believed to be life-threatening. 

The bus was uprighted just before 8:30 a.m.

The crash is under investigation.
