HALL COUNTY, Ga. -

A former Hall County Sheriff's lieutenant is in even more hot water after a GBI investigation determined she broke the law when she deleted a massive amount of data from their computer system.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office says they terminated Tammy Crawford, who was serving as the accreditation manager in the Office of Professional Standards, back at the end of August after they found the data missing. They asked the GBI to investigate the matter for them.

They say some of the data was backed up, but a good portion was corrupt or completely lost.

Crawford was arrested Wednesday and charged with Computer Trespass and Violation of Oath of Office. She was released the same day on $10,000 bond.

She had served with the sheriff's office since 1989 in various roles.

The sheriff's office did not release a possible motive in the case.

The GBI says they are still investigating the matter.
