Safety Vision is one of the nation's largest providers of digital and analog recording and enhanced vision camera equipment to mobile industries (city buses, school buses, police cars, commercial vehicle fleets, etc.)

Safety Vision is currently seeking a Full Time Service Technician.

Overview:

- Install and commission Safety Vision equipment as trained by the Installation Quality Manager

- Document installation status and communicate effectively and timely with the customer

- Assist Engineering with equipment troubleshooting and performance

- Represent Safety Vision in a professional manner at all times

Minimum Requirements:

- Ability to install electrical equipment to include digital video recorders, analog/digital cameras, microphones, power harness, ethernet/analog cables, etc. using hand and electronic tools

- Adjust, repair, or replace defective electronic components, wiring and relays

- Reassemble and test equipment after repairs

- Cut openings and drill holes for electronic components

- Locate, repair or remove circuit defects such as blown fuses

- Install new fuses, cables and ground

- Inspect and test mobile video systems to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices and computer software

- Configure basic wireless networks that include a client radio and access point

- Configure mobile surveillance equipment using basic DOS and Linnux commands

- Ability to work overnight shift

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate travel arrangements for off-site jobs

- Install mobile surveillance system equipment

- Commission and test surveillance system equipment

- Document installation and commissioning for customer and Installation Quality Manager

- Manage and report on-the-job expenses

- Communicate job status and issues with the customer and the Installation Quality Manager

- Install and test software/firmware

- Return any and all exchange or extra equipment; obtain an RMA from the Customer Support Manager

- Document and file expense report upon completion of each project

Education/Experience:

- 2 years of trade school or 5 years of experience in electronic system installation (preferably mobile system installation)

- Experience with vehicle communication systems (J1939, SAE 1455) is a huge plus

- Experience with vehicle/building wireless networking equipment (client radios, Access Points, Servers) is a huge plus
