Missing Minneapolis woman found safe

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Minneapolis police confirmed late Friday morning that Cynthia Sullivan, the woman who was missing since last Friday, has been found safe.

Initially, investigators had reason to believe Sullivan didn't vanish voluntarily. The reason for that can be found in the bloodshot eye that stood out in Sullivan's driver's license photo, an injury friends and loved ones say she sustained when her ex-boyfriend allegedly choked her in July. Assault charges were filed against him, and Sullivan planned to testify against him at his trial in just one week.

Sullivan was last seen last Friday at PTI Transportation along East Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. Coworkers said they knew something was wrong when she suddenly stopped communicating on Friday night although she had planned to meet friends for drinks.

"It was about 7 or 8 o'clock at night, and the texts just stopped," Mike Llona said. "There was not one more text after that, and it was really weird because any time I text her -- or I've called her, she's always returned my calls or my texts."

No one was able to make any contact with her since she went missing last week, and her coworkers said it's extremely unusual for her not to come to work, collect her paycheck, or keep in touch.

"A good employee, like I said," said Bill Applebee. "She's always on time on time for work, always did what was asked of her. Did a real nice job for us around here -- very much out of character for her not to show up."
