Friday night was opening night for the Orlando Magic, but before the team "tipped" off the season here at home against the New Orleans Pelicans, they dealt with some special honors.
"I, Buddy Dyer, Mayor of the city of Orlando, hereby do proclaim the 2013-2014 season as the Orlando Magic 25th anniversary silver season in the city of Orlando."
Friday wasn't only proclaimed as the Orlando Magic's silver season, it was also proclaimed as Orlando Magic Day in Orange County.
"I do hereby proclaim today November 1st 2013 as Orlando Magic day in Orange County Florida, and urge all citizen to join in this celebration, not only today, but throughout this entire season. God Bless," Orange County Mayor, Teresa Jacobs said.
To add to the celebration, the Magic will have a "Magic Hall of Fame," and the first ever draft pick, Nick Anderson will be the first player inducted into the hall. Currently, Nick is the community ambassador for the Orlando Magic.
"I really didn't expect any of this, but it is an honor, and a privilege, and I'm thankful and grateful," Nick said.
