On Halloween night, Osceola County Sheriff's deputies with the Sex Offender Unit, in conjunction with the State Probation Office, conducted sexual offender and sexual predator checks through out the county. It's when deputies go door to door in an effort to make sure the convicted sex offenders abide by the rules of their curfew and stay inside that night.
They also make it a point to make sure that their porch lights aren't own. Having a porch light on signals to children. who are out trick-or-treating to knock on the door.
In all on Halloween night, deputies made contact with 91 sex offenders and predators on probation, but their hard work of going door to door only resulted in one arrest. Norman Wood was arrested for Curfew Violation. Wood is a convicted sex offender on five years probation for Lewd and Lascivious Conduct on a Child under 16.
A condition of his probation is curfew from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. every night. At 10:10 p.m. the 30-year-old arrived at his residence in St. Cloud and that's when he was arrested for violating his probation. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
