DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) -

An autopsy has revealed Renisha McBride, 19, died of a gunshot wound to her face.

Her family originally thought she may have been shot in the back of the head, but the results showed the fire hit her in the face and it was not at close range. The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office report released Monday ruled Renisha's death was a homicide.

No charges have been filed since the November 2 killing. The unnamed homeowner told investigators that he thought someone was trying to break into his home and accidentally discharged the gun, according to police.

Renisha's family said she likely approached the Dearborn Heights home to seek help after getting into a car accident nearby.

On Monday, Dearborn Heights police released the following timeline:

12:57 a.m. -- First 911 call. The called said a female driver was speeding and crashed into a parked vehicle and left the scene.

1:23 a.m. -- Second 911 call. A different caller said the woman was back appeared to be drunk.

1:37 a.m. -- A police cruiser was dispatched to the scene

1:40 a.m. -- Cruiser arrives at the scene, but the driver was not there.

1:52 a.m. -- An EMS unit arrives at the scene, but saw no injured person.

2:52 a.m. -- Police cleared the scene, processed the vehicle and impounded it.

Police say Renisha was shot and killed after 4 a.m. It is unclear where she was for several hours between the accident and her death.

Dearborn Heights Police sent a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor who sent it back asking for more information before making a decision on charges.
