Tiger cub public debut

WASHINGTON - There may be nothing cuter than a couple of kittens at play.

They bounce and roll and sneak up on mom. But these are not ordinary kittens.

Today is the public debut of Bandar and Sukacita.

They are four-month-old Sumatran tiger cubs bred at the National Zoo. Little Eden Hollingsworth is just a cub, too.

She is celebrating her third birthday at the Zoo today.

Her parents didn't know about the tiger debut, but they're appreciating the birthday surprise.

There are only 400 Sumatran tiger cubs left in the wild.

The National Zoo is part of a breeding program designed to help restore the tiger population.
