Megan Hilty: It's A Whole Lot Of Me

Ever hear the singing chicken? Megan Hilty indulges Steve and Lisa Wednesday morning on Good Day LA with it...and words cannot begin to describe it! The actress is performing Friday night in Hollywood and talked about her double life as an actress and a singer.

"I like to keep it different so it's great that my day job, I get to do "Sean Saves the World" and then at night I get to do concerts and on the weekends...I'm Mrs. Gallagher, life's good."

Megan is also a newlywed, getting married about 2 weeks ago. What kind of extravagant wedding did she have? One with 20 people.

"It was just our immediate family, they all came to Vegas."

So what's it like being married?

"Not much is different I just, I really like introducing him as my husband, it just feels right."

Steve asked her about her last series, "Smash". Despite strong reviews it only lasted two season.

"We had two good years...you just never never know. All you know is that at some point the show will end so you just kinda enjoy it while you can."

Lisa and Megan also poke fun at Steve for his first question to her: "Is that real hair we're looking at?"

Megan will be singing Broadway, American and pop standards, as well as songs from her debut album, "It Happens All The Time" Friday night. She'll play two shows at the Catalina Bar and Grill in Hollywood.

1) She  is an American stage and television actress. She rose to prominence for her roles in several Broadway musicals including her performance as Galinda in Wicked and her portrayal of Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5: The Musical.

2) Her best known role was as Ivy Lynn on the 2012-2013 musical-drama TV series Smash, on which she sang many original songs, including the Grammy Award-nominated "Let Me Be Your Star". She currently appears in the sitcom Sean Saves the World.

3) Shortly before graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, Hilty auditioned for the hit musical Wicked. She moved to New York City after graduating and, in August 2004, she made her Broadway debut in the show as the standby for Galinda, before taking over the lead role from Jennifer Laura Thompson on May 31, 2005. After playing the role for a year, Hilty ended her run on May 28, 2006 and was succeeded by Kate Reinders.

4) Hilty starred in a musical called Vanities during its premiere engagement at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts in Mountain View, California. In addition to her stage work, Hilty has made guest appearances on various television shows including The Closer, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Ugly Betty, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Desperate Housewives, and Shark. She can also be heard as the singing voice of Snow White in the animated feature film Shrek the Third.

Megan's performing Friday night, November 22nd at the Catalina Bar And Grill In Hollywood...two shows, one at eight the other at ten thirty.
