ATLANTA -

Police say the suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman in front of the Midtown Atlanta building was found dead on Wednesday afternoon.

Bridgette Holt, 47, of Hampton, was going to work at the Norfolk Southern building located at 1230 Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta just before 7 a.m. when she was approached by a man and shot in the head according to Atlanta Police.

Holt was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where she later died.

Authorities executing a search warrant in Clayton County found the suspect in the shooting dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Sgt. Greg Lyon of the Atlanta Police Department.

Investigators have not released the name of the suspect, but say he and Holt both worked together and the shooting may have stemmed from a domestic dispute

Neighbors of Holt said that she had recently moved to Kennesaw and listed her Hampton home for sale after a recent break-in.

"It's really hard to take because she was so sweet," said Eulonda Harris. "She was a real sweet person -- would give you anything. All you had to do was ask her for it."

The Atlanta Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating.
