JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton will be in Jersey City to headline a fundraiser for Mayor Steve Fulop.
The $2,500 per person event kicks off with a private reception at the Liberty House at 1 p.m. Tuesday. A general reception follows.
The money will help fund Fulop's 2017 re-election campaign.
Fulop, who elected mayor six months ago, is already being talked about as a 2017 gubernatorial candidate. The 36-year-old has history with the Clintons, having supported Hillary Rodham Clinton over then-Sen. Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary.
Obama in turn endorsed Fulop's mayoral opponent, incumbent Jerry Healy.
