Three suspects in a Cherokee County murder have been taken into custody, authorities said. Two were arrested on Tuesday, while police caught up with the third on Wednesday.
On Tuesday morning, Cherokee County detectives announced they had issued arrest warrants for suspects in the murder of Christopher Pierce, who was found dead in his Woodstock home on Sunday.
Investigators say John Michael Taylor, 27, of Acworth, Benson Kyle Lloyd, 28, of Jasper, and Krystle Gail Taylor,27, of Dawsonville are suspected drug dealers with connections in Cherokee, Pickens, Cobb and Catoosa counties
Cell phone tracking led authorities to a home in Dawson County on Tuesday afternoon, where Krystle Gail Taylor surrendered immediately. Another suspect, John Michael Taylor, was brandishing a weapon and refused to come out of the house, police said.
Deputies and members of the Forsyth County SWAT surrounded the home for nearly three hours. Negotiators said they spotted Taylor using drugs inside the home during the standoff. Eventually SWAT team members were able to move in the house and use Tasers to detain John Taylor.
Investigators spent Tuesday night searching for the gun that killed Pierce.
Pierce was found dead from a gunshot wound in his home on Misty Hollow Way on Sunday night. Pierce lived in the home alone, officials say. Cherokee detectives say there was no sign of forced entry or items taken from murder victim's Woodstock home. Police believe it was a drug-related killing.
