Bodies of 2 teens found in Palm Beach canal

Posted: Updated:

LAKE WORTH, Fla. (AP) - The bodies of two teens found in a Palm Beach county canal have been identified.

The sheriff's office says the bodies of 18-year-old Jaylen Smith and 16-year-old Bryan Henry were found floating in the Lake Worth canal Thursday.

The Palm Beach Post reports the teens are believed to be among a group of four or five people accused of stealing a car Tuesday. The group was chased by deputies and the car ended up in the canal.

Deputies say one person got out of the car and ran into a nearby vacant field. Divers went into the water to check out the car and deputies searched the area for other suspects but none were found that day.
