EF1 tornado touched down in Flagler County

PALM COAST, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in the City of Palm Coast.

City officials said the tornado destroyed seven homes and damaged 164 homes in and around the Indian Trails neighborhood on Saturday night. In all, 171 homes were affected.

No injuries have been reported.

Weather officials have given the tornado a preliminary rating of a strong EF1 storm with winds up to 110 miles per hour. A tornado warning was issued at 6:56 p.m. on Saturday night.

Reports of down trees and power lines affected residents. Florida power and light restored power to nearly 3,000 homes.

The American Red Cross is now assisting those affected.
