Thirteen people were injured in a five-vehicle chain-reaction crash Sunday afternoon in west suburban Bellwood.
The incident occurred at the intersection of St. Charles and Mannheim roads around 3:45 p.m., according to police and Bellwood Director of Public Safety Andre Harvey.
Four children were among the 13 injured, though only two adults were seriously hurt, Harvey said. The rest all suffered minor injuries.
Harvey said one car was T-boned and a chain reaction followed, though the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Road conditions are not thought to be a factor.
No charges or citations have been filed in connection with the crash early Monday, Harvey said.
Bellwood police are investigating.
