SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a homeless woman found dead last week outside a publicly owned building in Saratoga Springs may have died of exposure to the cold.
Police say Monday that they're awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death for the woman in her early 50s who was found dead Thursday morning outside the Saratoga Senior Center.
Officials say police had received a complaint that two people were trespassing in a loading area outside the city-owned building, located about a block away from Saratoga's busy main thoroughfare.
Lt. Robert Jillson tells local media that the woman may have died from natural causes or from temperatures that dipped to 12 degrees that night. He says staffers at the center were familiar with the woman, whose name hasn't been released.
