ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Orlando police officers are searching for three people who robbed a pizza delivery man.  Investigators said the thieves used pepper spray on the victim.

Timothy Carter said he was delivering pizza to an apartment off Danube Way when he discovered his customers were actually crooks.

"Someone pepper-sprayed me, and stole pizzas."

It happened at around 2:30 on Saturday morning.

"I feared for my life. I thought I was going to get jumped.  Then they backed off a little bit and got I pepper-sprayed again."

When he ran back to his car, Timothy said the suspects followed him.

"As I was trying to leave, they hit me a few times."

But he was able to get away.

"My eyes were burning, could barely drive, so I was trying to get as far away as I could."

The thieves only took three pizzas,.

"I'm sure they wanted a lot more than they got."

Timothy said he was just trying to earn money to pay for holiday gifts for his little boy.

"Christmas is coming up, and I have a son, and I was trying to make money for that."

He hopes the three Grinches are caught.

"They were about 20 or so, kind of young.  They were Hispanic. The address they gave us was a bogus address, so I have no idea where they live."

This pizza delivery man says he has an order of his own, the next time he goes out.

"I want to be more aware if something feels fishy, but I'm not going to take a chance again."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Orlando Police Department.
