FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - A Mexican man living in the country illegally has been arrested after a high-speed chase with Pinal County authorities.

County Sheriff's officials say 35-year-old Jesus Lozano-Vizcarra is being held on suspicion of felony flight.

A sheriff's deputy spotted a speeding pickup truck Tuesday in the Florence area and a pursuit ensued that reached 100 mph.

The truck stopped after going through a fence and the driver and passenger fled, but both were quickly arrested.

Sheriff's officials say Lozano-Vizcarra told them that he had been in the U.S. illegally for about 90 days and didn't want to be deported.

He told authorities that he paid his way back into the U.S. by transporting marijuana from Mexico into Arizona.

A 24-year-old Mexican man in Lozano-Vizcarra's vehicle was turned over to federal authorities.
