ATLANTA (AP) - Fulton County prosecutors say a former Atlanta Public Schools principal and a teacher have pleaded guilty in a standardized test cheating conspiracy.

Prosecutors say former Gideons Elementary School principal Armstead Salters pleaded guilty Thursday to making false statements and writings. Salters was accused of giving teachers access to completed CRCT exam answer sheets so they could change incorrect answers, and falsifying exam certification forms. He's sentenced to 1,000 hours of community service and must pay $2,000 in restitution.

Former elementary school teacher Wendy Ahmed also pleaded guilty to obstruction for giving students the correct answers during their exams.

She was sentenced to 250 hours of community service and is ordered to pay $500 in restitution.

Thirty-five educators have been indicted in the case, and eight have pleaded guilty thus far.
