Metro Atlanta Christmas display causes stir

Posted: Updated:
BERKELEY LAKE, Ga. -

An elaborate holiday decoration is causing quite a stir in one local community. The display even sparked a call to 911!

The display in the Berkeley Lake neighborhood features a stuffed dummy named Slim decked out in a holiday hat dangling from Bubba Murphy's home gutters – out of reach of his collapsed ladder. Slim has been a fixture along Duck Pond Trace for the past five Christmas seasons,

One woman was so frightened by the display this week that she called 911.

"All the firemen were…taking pictures. The fire marshal was down there talking to the frantic mom that called it in," said Bubba Murphy.

On advice from emergency crews, the Murphys removed Slim after the scare. But demand for the spirited, clumsy dummy brought him back onto the eaves on Christmas Eve.
