Bear scares family following Christmas party

Posted: Updated:
LAKE MARY, Fla. -

'Twas the day after Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring until a big black bear broke in.

"I was getting ready to go to bed and that's when I heard the crash," said Tramaine Gaines.

When Tramaine Gaines ran downstairs he saw this bear searching for food.

"He stood up to look in the pot, and that's when I realized he would be looking me in my face. And that was crazy," said Gaines.

Gaines had forgotten a big pot of fried turkey oil on his back porch. After not finding any real turkey the bear wanders outside.

"I guess he thought there was some turkey inside my grill here, so he got at that," said Gaines.

The bear comes back in for one last turkey check then again leaving empty handed.

"He kind of gave us a disappointed look and then left," said Gaines.

With trail of destruction in its wake.
