Christie vs Clinton

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) - A new poll shows Governor Christie and Hillary Clinton neck-and-neck two years out from the actual presidential election.

With so much time before the 2016 election, do these numbers even mean anything? Political consultant Jeanette Hoffman chimed in to discuss just that.

“Polls are always a snapshot in time and the presidential election is in 2016, two years is an eternity in the political world, however it’s still fun to talk about and if you look at the head to head matchup, Governor Christie is doing way better than any other Republican in the field against Hillary Clinton and I think, really, if you look at the numbers, Governor Christie is the Democrats worst nightmare,” she said.

The other Republicans whose names are in the running include, Rick Perry and Rand Paul so Christie still has to face some competition in order to get out of the primaries, and his popularity could be putting a target on his back for the next two years.

“It’s exciting to look at ex-governor Christie as a Republican presidential candidate because if you look at the numbers he does really well among independents, we see here in New Jersey he’s won the majority of Hispanic voters, of women, of independents, I think that’s gonna be part of his message in the Republican primary, is we need a candidate who can win,” Hoffman said.

It's only September, but the big box stores are already putting Christmas trees and apparel out on the shelves and some people say it's just too early for all that stuff!  “I just saw Christmas trees and Christmas decorations and my air conditioner is on at home. So I have no intention of going anywhere near them, I think it's a horrible idea,” one customer said.
