New Year's Eve Cocktails

Posted: Updated:
Morristown, New Jersey (My9NJ) - There are a bunch of New Year's Eve traditions: fireworks, the countdown, a midnight kiss and of course, a couple of delicious cocktails!

Warren Bobrow is known as New Jersey’s "cocktail whisperer" and he has some fun drink ideas to help get everyone in the spirit of the holiday and ring in 2014 the right way!

First up, the French 75. It involves charring some strawberries, two types of gin and one type of rum, and of course a little Champagne!

Next, the Bitter Frost Cocktail which includes crushed ice, simple syrup, bitters and bourbon!

Bobrow discussed the reason why cocktails are so memorable and meaningful especially this time of year.

"It helps them relax certainly, I mean we all know that alcohol helps people relax, it’s a great social lubricant and it brings people together and flavor becomes memorable,” he said.

Bobrow even created a signature cocktail that he uniquely named the Chasing New Jersey! This mouthwatering drink is made up of smoked sage, vodka and grapefruit Perrier.

Warren compared preparing cocktails to making soup!

“Those flavors are so new. And they’re like making soup. There are all different layers in soup and there are all different layers in cocktails," he said.

Be sure to check out Bobrow's new book, Apothecary Cocktails: Restorative Drinks from Yesterday and Today. And follow him on twitter at: @WarrenBobrow1.
