CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man wearing a ski mask has robbed at least three businesses in the Southwest Side Beverly neighborhood over the last month.

The "lone, large built" man enters the store and keeps his hands in his pockets, implying he has a handgun, while telling employees to empty cash registers, according to a community alert from Area South detectives.

He ran away eastbound after each of the robberies, which occurred:

— about 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at a Shell station at 9555 S. Western Ave.;

— about 5:25 a.m. Dec. 16 at a Starbucks at 1933 W. 103rd St.; and

— about 7:05 a.m. Dec. 28 at a CVS at 1930 W. 103rd St.

Police describe the suspect as a 6-foot, 200-pound black man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, ski mask and gloves.

Anyone with information should contact detectives at (312) 747-8380.
