Are you a sugar addict? You may be one and not even know it!Fox 29's Joyce Evans takes a look at that naughty everyday ingredient that seems to be added to just about everything we eat.

On average, Americans consume a whopping 22 tablespoons of sugar a day.

And that figure is even more during the holidays.

Too much sugar has been linked to weight gain, type-2 diabetes, even heart disease.

But, as FOX 29's Joyce Evans shows us, giving it up isn't so easy.

She followed a couple that spent three weeks shedding pounds, but it was no walk in the park. See how they did it, and how you can, too.

They're doing it with the help of the new book "The 21 Day Sugar Detox."

What if you want to cut back on sugar without going cold turkey? Try cutting back on the processed foods you eat, meaning all the stuff that comes already made for you, in a bag or a box.
