9-year-old girl delivers baby sister after mother goes into labor early
A nine-year-old Illinois girl rose to the challenge when her mom went into labor with her baby sister two weeks early.
Alyssa Meza was at home when her mother's water broke.
The woman knew she couldn't make it to the hospital in time.
"We were sitting down in my room and her water had just broken. But then she got up to go to the bathroom because she started feeling like the baby was coming out. So she's standing in the bathroom. I told her to push the baby out and I got the baby and i grabbed a towel and wrapped it up," Alyssa said.
With no help from doctors or paramedics, Alyssa delivered her baby sister by herself.
Paramedics arrived shortly after to check out mom and the baby.
