Temperatures are below average for the remainder of the week. The mild weather made an exit in the Tristate region and snow moved in late Tuesday into Wednesday. Scattered showers, heavier rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds made a return.

There's nothing worse than trying to dodge and weave through the rain drops on a rainy day in New York City. But a new umbrella sharing pilot may make getting stuck in the rain a little easier. Who really wants to lug an umbrella around all day? So here's a solution: umbrella sharing.

A lunar eclipse known as a red moon or "blood moon" was visible in the Tristate area on Tuesday.  It started early in the morning and was the first of four such lunar eclipses over the next year and a half. The moon turns red during this type of eclipse because the sunlight is refracted, similar to the way it is bent during a sunset.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - You know it's too cold outside when a place that bills itself as Snowtown USA cancels some of its winter festival events.

The organizers of this week's Snowtown festival in Watertown in northern New York cancelled some of the outdoor activities as temperatures plunged below zero across the North Country. Scratched from this week's lineup were a snowshoe tour, horse-drawn carriage rides, dog sled rides and a snow softball tournament.

Organizers moved other outdoor activities to indoor facilities. The events run through Sunday.

Watertown, located 65 miles north of Syracuse, revived its Snowtown festival for the first time in 17 years.

A woman charged with buying guns for a convicted felon who later used them to kill two volunteer firefighters in an ambush was convicted Tuesday of falsifying business records. A state Supreme Court jury in Rochester found 25-year-old Dawn Nguyen, of the town of Greece, guilty because she lied when she said on a gun purchase form that she was buying the weapons for her own use.
