Daytona Beach Police are looking for two suspects who they say planned out and performed an armed robbery at the KFC on Mason Avenue Friday morning.
Just before 10 a.m. Friday, an employee was recorded on surveillance video locking up the store and walking to his car on his way to deposit money at the bank. In the recording, a man runs toward the employee. The man points something, believed to be a gun, at the employee, and the employee throws the bag full of money on top of a car. The man takes the money and runs to a car waiting nearby with a getaway driver inside.
Daytona Beach Police Sgt. John Creamer says the employee did the right thing.
"We would advise him that distance is your friend, he saw the weapon and he complied. He surrendered the money, there so, to me that was a smart move," said Sgt. Creamer.
Police believe the suspects planned this out in advance. Police believe the suspect's vehicle is a faded green, older model GM, possibly an Oldsmobile or Buick. The suspects are both black men in their early to mid 20s.
