Were you looking for love online on Sunday night?

The best time out of the whole entire year to go online and find a match was January 5, at 8:57 p.m., according to Match.com

"They probably went to a New Year's Eve party, the ball dropped and they had no one to kiss," said Jon Snyder.

That's one reason for the timing.

Online dating worked for Jon and Kay Snyder who have been married for three years.

"I was actually on my one week free trial and so was he...and we met so we didn't have to pay the company a dime. We feel like we owe them a check," said Kay Snyder.

Meeting your soulmate online is not that uncommon anymore. These days 11 percent of married couples met online.

So how do you go from checking out online profiles, to putting a ring on it, to walking down the aisle and saying "I do?"

Couples FOX 10 spoke with at the Scottsdale Wedding Walk share some tips.

"He was actually real and tried to make conversation with me instead of being, 'Hey, want to hook up this weekend?'" said Tina Williams.

Conversation and a clean record sealed the deal for one couple.

"I would say definitely do your research as far as looking up the person. She actually performed a criminal background check on me," said Timothy Williams.

Having something in common also goes along way.

"He saw my profile that I do video production and he does video production," said Kay Snyder.

And so does the inexplicable phenomenon of "it just happens."

"I don't know if I was taking it seriously at first. So for us, we just bonded, we just wanted to talk shop, so none of us intended, I guess, for it to happen," said Jon Snyder.
