Weather Forecast: January 6th 2014

Posted: Updated:

Get ready for some ridiculously cold weather.  A strong arctic cold front is moving through Central Florida this morning.  Behind the front, temperature will plummet this afternoon and evening along with winds cranking out of the NW at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30.  Hard freeze warnings go into effect tonight for Marion, Alachua, Lake and western Volusia counties where temperatures will drop into the 20's.  Locations farther to the north like Gainesville will drop to around 19°.  The rest of us will be under a freeze warning overnight until 9 am Tuesday.  Actual low temperatures in Orlando will drop to around 31° but feeling much colder once you factor in the wind chill.
