Puppies stolen during Volusia County burglary

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Dog owner Tony England worries about the safety of his four and a half old week old Maltese-Yorkie mix breed puppies stolen from his New Smyrna Beach home Sunday morning.

"I walked in and I noticed the puppies were gone, this one and this one had puppies," he said. "There's two of them."

England said he went for a walk along the beach around 6:30 Sunday morning. When he came back around 7:45 a.m., he found the door of his home slightly open and his precious puppies gone along with his wallet and TV.

"My first reaction was pretty evil to that somebody would just target the puppies," England said.

He doesn't know how the thieves broke in, but he said the two-pound young puppies need to be with their mother.

And on a cold night like Monday night, he said worries if they're being properly cared for. He said he has a message for the person who took them.

"Please bring them back," England said. "If you bring them back… I don't care about the TV, it's material. My wallet is material, but the puppies, they need [their] mama back."

Anyone with information on the stolen puppies is asked to contact the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
